Pricing
What does a website
cost in Miami?
The honest answer is that it depends on scope — but "it depends" is a useless answer on its own. Here is exactly what drives the number, what you get at each tier of the market, and how we quote.
What actually drives the price
Four things move a website quote more than anything else:
- Scope — a single focused landing page versus a full multi-page site
- Whether it transacts — ordering, scheduling, payments, and an admin panel add real engineering
- Custom design vs. adapted — an original design costs more than a theme, and looks like it
- Systems behind it — CRM connections, automated intake, and internal tooling
A brochure site for a professional practice and an e-commerce storefront with live inventory are both "a website," and they are not remotely the same project. Anyone who quotes you a price before understanding which one you need is guessing.
The tiers of the Miami market
DIY builders (Wix, Squarespace, WordPress themes) are the cheapest option and genuinely fine for validating an idea. You trade away originality and speed — you'll look like the thousands of other businesses using that template, and page-builder bloat tends to make these sites slow.
Low-cost offshore or marketplace developers are the next step up in price. The build usually happens, but the risk concentrates in communication, revisions, and what happens after launch. Cheap becomes expensive when nobody can maintain what was delivered.
Freelancers can be excellent value and are often the right answer for a small, well-defined project. The constraint is capacity: one person covering design, development, and support has a ceiling, and holidays and illness are your problem too.
Studios and agencies cost more and should return more — strategy, original design, engineering standards, and accountability. The top of this market includes large agencies with account managers and overhead you also pay for. We sit deliberately at the studio end: senior work, direct contact, no layers.
How we quote
Every Blackform Labs project is a fixed price, agreed after a free 20-minute call. No hourly billing, no surprise invoices, and no number until we understand what you actually need. You'll know the exact figure before any work begins.
We quote fixed rather than hourly on purpose. Hourly billing puts us on opposite sides of the table: you want the project done efficiently, and the studio gets paid more when it takes longer. A fixed price makes the estimate our problem instead of your risk. If we scope it wrong, that's on us.
Scope drives the number, so the fastest way to a real figure is a short conversation about what you're trying to achieve. If your budget and the work don't match, we'll tell you on that call rather than after a proposal.
What's included
- Visual design built for your business, not adapted from a theme
- All pages built and tested on mobile and desktop
- Performance and SEO fundamentals — metadata, structured data, sitemap
- Hosting and deployment setup, configured and live
- Documentation and handoff so your team can run it
- Domains, hosting, and accounts in your name — nothing held hostage
Most projects ship in two to four weeks. Focused projects move faster — we've taken a B2B landing page from brief to live in three days.
Questions worth asking any Miami web designer
Whether or not you work with us, these questions separate a good engagement from an expensive lesson: Who owns the domain, hosting, and accounts when we're done? What happens if I want to change the site myself later? Is the price fixed, and what specifically would make it change? What are you doing about site speed and mobile? And: can I see something you built that is still live today?
If the answers are vague, the project will be too. Ours: see the work we've shipped.
Why don't you list prices on your website?
Because a published number would be wrong for almost everyone reading it. It would either overcharge simple projects or badly under-scope complex ones, and both end in a bad project. One free call gets you an exact fixed figure instead of a misleading range.
Do you charge hourly?
No. Every project is a fixed price agreed before work starts, so the estimating risk sits with us rather than with you.
Are there ongoing monthly fees?
Not to us by default. Hosting and any third-party services are billed to your own accounts, which keeps them in your name and your control. If you want ongoing support, we scope that separately and explicitly.
What if I only need a redesign, not a new site?
That's a large share of our work and it's scoped the same way. We identify where the current site is losing credibility or leads and rebuild around that. See web design & development.
